Passementerie

The series of passementerie prints are deeply rooted in the exploration of British traditional craft, with particular focus on his family history of trimmings manufacturing. He has spent time documenting a selection of original photographs from the archives of Brian Turner Trimmings Limited, a trimmings company founded by James’s great-grandfather in 1899. His works draw inspiration from the century-old legacy of passementerie, highlighting the importance of recovering and celebrating the history and heritage of British crafts.
